World of Tanks Patch 7.4: More Juicy Details

We knew that French tanks would appear in Patch 7.4. What we did not know were all the other great things that are planned to be released together with Patch 7.4 for World of Tanks. The patch might be as explosive as that which introduced the US tank tree, or the French tanks. What else then should we expect?

World of Tanks, now with more tank!

What I mentioned in a previous article is that the French TD and SPG line will be introduced into World of Tanks. Those are not the only vehicles to be added. Thus far I can also mention that the Soviet Tier 8 Object 252/IS-6 as well as the Tier 8 German JagdTiger mit 8.8cm KwK 43 L/71 will be added. The IS-6 was developed as a project to include an electric transmission. While this JagdTiger with the 8.8cm KwK appears to be an inferior JagdTiger when compared to its Tier IX brother, its main weakness being most certainly the gun (it is similar to the one the Tiger II uses, as well as the Elefant). Details on these tanks will certainly appear closer to the patch’s release.

Maps, and other stuff.

Among other changes two new maps will be the introduction called Wide Park and Airport/Airfield. Based on the current descriptions Wide Park will be partly dominated by an Urban setting, while Airport/Airfield will be an Airfield in the middle of a desert (that reminds me of one Men of War map).

There is also mention of more Camo patterns for our tanks, two new game modes (Assault and Counter Battles), new sounds and a change to how you get your money back if a friendly damages you. At this early stage we could speculate that there could be even more changes coming in Patch 7.4.

Overall, another “Vive la France!”

Patch 7.4 is dedicated to the French Tank Tree. They will have their own selections of Tank Destroyers and Self-Propelled Guns, allowing for any French based clan to carry around their own “Full” platoon, rather than a mixture of different tanks from different nations. I am curious as to their equipment and abilities, since both the French TDs and SPGs, especially the SPGs, could be incredibly quick, begging the question whether they will still remain as TDs? I am not concerned about the safety of my own tanks, but that the entire French tank tree will be focused on Speed past about Tier 5. Despite the complaints I have been hearing the French tanks are not something that any other tank could ignore.

We have yet to hear an official announcement, and see the release of Patch 7.3, however what we know of Patch 7.4 should spark some interest in us all.
