Update for World of Tanks Patch 7.3
More details have been revealed regarding Patch 7.3 for World of Tanks. The new info explains what will happen to your old KV, KV-3 and/or IS-4 tanks, since the new Soviet Tank-Tree shifts these tanks around. To check out the general info on the Patch, watch the trailer or check out the new Soviet Tank-Tree click here, otherwise read on.
In essence, if you had a KV, KV-3 or IS-4 you will still keep your respective tanks. They will keep all the modules they had installed as well as equipment, ammo and camo (except for the IS-4). The crews will not lose any experience. It is stated however that under certain circumstances you will get an additional tank. In the case of the KV, if you researched the KV-2 turret you will keep your old KV (now a KV-1) and get a free KV-2, with a 100% crew and a free garage slot for it. In the case of the KV-3 you keep your KV-3 (it advances from Tier 6 to Tier 7) and you get a free T-150 with a 100% crew, default layout and free garage slot. The IS-4 gets substituted by the IS-8 (Tier 9) with a 100% crew, and you get a free IS-4 (now a Tier 10) with only an improved gun, but otherwise default layout, though you keep your old crew.
On the source site you can find the exact details of what will happen with any relevant research or equipment that you “bought”. Most of it will be passed on to your new tanks, but if there is any equipment which becomes obsolete it will be refunded at the original price you paid. A very delicate transition, and for some it might be highly beneficial. Considering how many KV, KV-3 and IS-4 tanks I have seen on the field there might be a lot of very happy players about soon.
See you on the battlefield.
